Chakras are energy centres. The word “Chakra” is of Indian origin and literally means ‘wheel’. When viewed front-on, Chakras have been described as ‘wheels of light’.
These spinning vortices of energy spiral from the body and co-ordinate the flow of energy into and out of the body. As they spin within the body energy fields, they reflect how the Universal Energy is being processed as they interconnect and communicate with the energy fields and each other.
The Chakras stimulate the endocrine and nervous systems. So when the Chakras are out of balance, the cells will not rejuvenate, maintain or rebuild themselves, resulting in disease.
Emotions and beliefs also affect the nervous and endocrine systems and limiting emotional reactions can alter the vibration and balance of the body, which in turn causes imbalance in the Chakras.
The way each Chakra processes the Universal Energy as it flows through the body, in through the crown Chakra and out through the various Chakras, indicates how the individual is dealing with life on a day-to-day basis. A change in thought and expression can instantly change the spin, colour and clarity of a Chakra.
